Aric and I met up with about a dozen other Motsseurs in Barcelona in March of '95. Here we are on top hill in the Park Guell which was designed by this whacked out guy, Gaudi. He also designed the Sagrada Familia.
St. Eamonn the Innocent is absolving my sins. But who will absolve his?
The Sagrada Familia is a later day Gothic church designed by Gaudi, though it's not complete as Gaudi was run over by a bus, and it seems the plans for the place were all in his head.
When Howard instigated this trip to Barcelona, it was obstensibly to eat oily squid tapas and throw himself from top of the Sagrada Familia. He never made the trip.
Howard insisted that we go to Perpignon France to eat a the Chapon Fin, at the Parc Hotel. It was *faaabulous*.
Some people are insatiable. We were just finishing a 5 course meal, and they wheeled the dessert cart over. Most of us just groaned but FJ asked if he could have one of each. We watched in horror as he ATE IT ALL!
Vosne Romanee is in Burgundy in the Cote Nuit. It is the home of DRC, Richebourg, and (duh) Vosne Romanee, which are some of the finest wines in Burgundy (and most expensive). I've drank plenty of Vosne Romanee's and have always been in rapture.
Howard and I went to Berkeley a while ago to Kermit Lynch, who is a wine importer. Kermit likes Rhone wines, and imports from Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe in Chateauneuf du Pape. We have sort of adopted this sturdy, dark wine as our signature wine, and just had to stop by and say hello. The proprietor was very amused by all of this and gave us an impromptu tour.
While Aric and I were in Paris, we met up with cute Michaeltje who took the train down from Geneva. Here we're out cruising the Jardin des Tuilleries with the Louvre in the background.
